    Slaves

There are two people in the world; slaves and slaves.  Let me explain… since the father of the human race Adam sinned, were all are born sinners.  Have you noticed how you never have to instruct a child on how to do wrong?  They just naturally and unconsciously do what is wrong on various levels.  This is because we are born sinners and we are slaves to our own desires.  We are mastered and dominated by sin; it takes no effort for us to choose ourselves and our desires over everything else.  When we live like this we are sinning against God and the way He would have us to live.  He desires us to live differently because our natural desires and tendencies; to have, to be, and to do all that we want results in death.  So there are people who are slaves to sin but there are other slaves in the world also.

The other slaves are those who are slaves to God.  How does one become a slave to God?  When a person recognizes that they are a slave to sin and turns from their attempt to break the power of sin in their life and asks Jesus to break the power of sin and become his Lord.  At that moment a person who has been a slave to sin then becomes a slave to God.  Being enslaved to God is a wonderful thing because it results in sanctification and eternal life, where being a slave to sin results in death (Rom 6:21-22).

So what kind of slave are you?  Are you a slave to sin or are you a slave to God?

Prayer: Father I praise you that you provided away that I have been freed from the slavery of sin and am a slave to you.  I thank you that you have broken the power of sin in my life and my desire is the I would present my body to you each and every day to be used as an instrument of righteousness in your hand.  I desire to live righteously for your honor and your glory because you deserve all worship, in Jesus name. Amen.
