3/27/10 Acts 1 & 2
His Witnesses
(Ac 1:8)8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Today we will be traveling to Clarkston, Georgia to a community which has a significant population of various people groups. We will be spending time there for a couple of reasons. We are going to expose more people to the opportunity that we have to do cross-cultural missions without having to travel on a plane to do so. We will be helping families that need assistance for the day. We will be there to encourage Bennett who is a faithful servant of the Lord who labors in this harvest field day after day. We will also be there to “prayer walk” which is done by walking through out the apartment complexes and the community in a spirit of prayer.
We have a unique opportunity to be witness of our Lord and Savior to the remotest parts of the earth without actually going there. I recall Bennett told a group of us last year that within the one apartment complex there were more than 29 different countries represented. It would be a great blessing if because of our visit today that the Holy Spirit would convict men, women, boys and girls and they would come to the obedience of faith that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Today we can walk confidently in a community where there are multiple world religions, idol worship, and where we will be in the minority, because we have received the power of the Holy Spirit. We also know that “greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
(Jn 14:26-27)26“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. 27“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Prayer: Father it is your plan that we be your witnesses to the remotest parts of the earth and I pray that today for those who go to Clarkston, Georgia will be faithful witness by the power available from the Holy Spirit. May every word, look, and action be done as if Jesus were the one doing it. Be glorified by our service for you today and do through us what we cannot do in ourselves even a thousand times over. I ask that your kingdom will increase and your will would be done today, in Jesus name. Amen.
