    2/8/10 Mark 15

What will you do with Jesus?

(Mk 15:12)12Answering again, Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?”

In Mark 15 we read that Jesus was brought before Pilate, and then He was mocked, and then crucified and buried.  We must ask ourselves what shall we do with Jesus?  Everything depends on how we answer this question, our todays and tomorrows. Have you personally confessed your sins and allow Jesus to be the only and perfect sacrifice to satisfy God’s unrelenting wrath?  Have you relinquished control of your life and allowed Jesus to be your Lord?  This means that you give Him full jurisdiction over your life.  There is no better way to live.  He is able and willing to direct, guide, and command you in the way you should go.  We must daily allow Jesus to be on the throne of our life.  He is the King of the Jews, the King of Kings, and is the King of me.

The chief priests, elders, scribes, and the whole Council denied Jesus His rightful place to be King over them and demanded that Jesus be crucified.  Pilate’s question here demonstrates that he was hesitant and unwilling to condemn Jesus to death, but is ultimately persuaded by the crowd to do so.

Every day the question is before us; what we will do with Jesus?  Will we embrace Him and His authority or will we reject Him?

Prayer: Father, I submit to Jesus who is the King of Kings.  I must confess that it is easy for me trust in myself and my ways and not yield to His divine authority.  I ask for abundant grace to carry out the duties and responsibilities given to me by the King during today and the tomorrows you grant.  In Jesus name, Amen.
